Brooklake hosts classic weddings as its primary business, with an indoor ballroom, outdoor lakeside ceremony spaces, and an in-house culinary program. Brooklake is open to the public and does not require membership to book an event.

The grounds include a private lake, west-facing lakeside views that produce sunset backdrops, landscaped grounds with flowers, pathways, and rolling hills, and an open-air patio used for cocktail hours and intimate gatherings. The ballroom has a neutral palette and floor-to-ceiling windows that keep the outdoor setting in view throughout an event.

Brooklake is about 45 minutes from New York City in typical conditions, roughly 35 minutes without traffic and up to 90 minutes at peak rush hour. The venue is near Morristown, Livingston, and Madison, and is accessible from across Northern New Jersey.

Event Spaces

The Ballroom: Maximum capacity 350 guests, with a typical seated limit of 300. Scenic lake view, attached cocktail lounge, floor-to-ceiling windows, oversized dance floor, and a neutral palette that adapts to any event theme. Used for weddings, mitzvahs, and evening receptions.

The Waterfords Dining Room: Seats up to 100 guests and includes a private patio. Used for daytime social events including birthday celebrations, showers, graduations, and retirement parties.

The Cocktail Lounge: Attached to the Ballroom and also bookable for daytime social events.

Outdoor Lakeside Ceremony Space: Open-sky ceremony areas beside the private lake, with water views and flexible seating. An indoor ceremony plan is prepared from the start for every event.

Patios and Grounds: A spacious open-air patio for cocktail hours and intimate gatherings, plus landscaped grounds with flowers, pathways, rolling hills, and the lake.

Private Dressing Suites: Private dressing suites and a couples suite for event preparation.

Exclusivity Policy

Brooklake hosts one wedding at a time. From the first guest arrival through the last dance, the venue team is focused on a single wedding. Weddings are never overlapped.

Non-wedding events, such as a daytime social event in the Waterfords Dining Room, may run concurrently in a separate space.

Catering

Brooklake operates an in-house, chef-driven culinary program directed by Peter, Director of Catering. In-house catering covers classic weddings and most events, and includes:

• Cocktail hour with butler-passed hors d’oeuvres and chef-attended stations
• Plated dinner with tableside choice, and buffet options
• Dessert service, Viennese-style tables, and coffee, espresso, and cordial service
• Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and allergy accommodation
• Menu tastings as part of the planning process

Outside catering. Brooklake’s in-house culinary program is the standard for all events. Licensed and insured outside caterers are welcome for two categories:

• Kosher and Glatt Kosher events. Certified kosher service requires an approved outside licensed kosher caterer providing rabbinical supervision. Brooklake’s own chefs can prepare a kosher-style menu, which is not certified or supervised.
• Indian and South Asian celebrations. Many families choose an outside caterer for traditional regional cuisine. Brooklake provides the space, premium bar, and staffing.

All external caterers must provide proof of licensing and insurance before the event. Catering costs from external vendors are handled directly between the client and the caterer.

Bar Service

A Standard Premium Open Bar is included for weddings and evening receptions. Platinum and open bar upgrades are available at additional cost. For daytime social events, non-alcoholic beverages are included and bar service is an additional charge.

Event Timing

Cultural and Religious Celebrations

Brooklake accommodates cultural and religious traditions and works with approved outside caterers where those traditions require it.

Kosher and Glatt Kosher. Hosted in the Ballroom. Food and rabbinical supervision are provided by an approved outside licensed kosher caterer carrying insurance. Brooklake provides the space, staffing, and bar service. A separate ceremony fee applies.

Indian and South Asian. Brooklake hosts South Asian morning ceremonies in the Ballroom from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, and South Asian evening receptions in the Ballroom with premium bar and staffing included. Brooklake’s in-house culinary team is the standard, and many families choose to bring a licensed and insured outside caterer for traditional regional cuisine. Brooklake is a Maharani Weddings certified venue for Indian weddings. The event team coordinates ritual timing, room flips, and vendor access for baraat, milni, mandap, and reception, and accommodates horse-led baraat arrivals on the private drive.

Fees and Taxes

All events of all types are subject to a 22% administrative fee, which is not a gratuity, and 6.625% New Jersey sales tax. These apply in addition to quoted per-person pricing.

Wedding and Event Pricing

Evening weddings in the Ballroom are $175–$225 per person depending on the day. Afternoon luncheon receptions begin at $170 per person. Evening bar and bat mitzvahs are $175–$225 per person depending on the day. South Asian evening receptions are $145–$175 per person, including premium bar and staffing. Food is provided by an approved outside licensed caterer. South Asian morning ceremonies from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM are $70 per person. Kosher and Glatt Kosher events are priced without food, by day and season, with a separate ceremony fee of $1,500. Food is provided by an approved outside licensed kosher caterer.

Guest Minimums

Evening wedding in the Ballroom: 125–200 guests depending on season. Afternoon wedding in the Ballroom: 100–125 guests. Afternoon social event in the Waterfords: 50 guests. South Asian and kosher events: 200 guests. Daytime social in the Waterfords: $5,000 minimum spend for up to 50 guests. Daytime social in the Cocktail Lounge: $7,500 minimum spend for the first 75 guests.
