Creating a Serene Atmosphere in a Bridal Dressing Suite

Enjoy style, comfort and fun with those closest to you
Our couples agree, few wedding venues in New Jersey cross all the t’s and dot all the i’s like Brooklake. It starts with the planning and comes to life in your Dressing Suite, a beautiful start to your big day.
With all the wait and planning, we doubt you can fully imagine how important your time in the Dressing Suite will be. It’s your oasis in a hectic day. It’s where time can stand still for a bit before the ceremony and festivities all begin. Filled with excitement and anticipation, there is sure to be much laughter and also a few tears as you all look back on what brought you all together on this day and look forward to what’s to come. It’s where you’ll get settled in, make-up bags ready, bridal shoes sparkling, hair dryers blowing, and perhaps a bottle of bubbly too! Your spacious suite features lots of light, salon-style mirrors and an extra-long vanity table and loads of plug-sockets. It has a sofa that’s both elegant and comfortable, pretty chairs and plenty of room for everyone to get ready.
Make sure you allow time for a few precious moments with your loved ones once your wedding preparations are complete. If your Dad is giving you away, he’ll love a private moment with his little girl in your suite before the ceremony. Don’t worry, we’ll have some tissues ready for you!

Photo checklist for before the “I do”
Of course, every good wedding photographer (we can recommend a whole bunch!) will have their own list of important moments to capture, but it’s still a good idea to create your own, particularly if there are key elements or people you want to get a shot of. You probably won’t want all of these and will likely have a few ideas of your own.
Most of these photos will take place in your Dressing Suite.
- Shot of wedding invitation
- Bride(s) and bridesmaids getting their hair and makeup done
- Dress hanging, jewelry laid out, shoes etc.
- Bouquets and buttonholes/corsages
- Bride(s) putting on dress/veil with help from mother of the bride or bridesmaids
- Bridal party having fun
- Close up of dress details
- Putting on jewelry
- Putting on shoes
- Close up of bride holding bouquet
- Mother and bride portrait
- Father and bride portrait
- Family shots
- Bride(s) spending moment alone
- Wedding ring shot

The bridesmaid robes!
On your wedding day, you’ll spend a lot of time behind-the-scenes getting ready with your bridesmaids. How about rocking some adorable bridesmaid robes? They are an appreciated gift and reminder of your day, plus they’re the best option to ensure for no hair and makeup casualties. And the photos-ops will be so much fun!
There are no rules for this, but here are a couple ideas: If you are planning on a bridesmaid proposal, it would be a fun idea to incorporate the robe in with a little gift box. Or, if you want to surprise your girls closer to the big day, you could present it at the rehearsal dinner. Even the wedding day is an option! That way, you know that no one will forget to pack their bridesmaid robe! Or just in case, bring an extra!
There’s plenty of space and lots of natural light in Brooklake’s Dressing Suite.
Plush and spacious, it’s perfectly appointed for hair and make-up, and for spending some serene, pampered time prior to the big event. The suite is designed to capture beautiful photographs with those closest to you.
